Cherish our past, value our future
The Arts and craft association

The Association promotes, fosters and markets local art and crafts, traditional and modern, retaining an important aspect of the Island’s cultural heritage. Their shop, currently situated in the cellar of the Consulate Hotel on Main Street, is staffed by volunteers and has over 60 contributors producing a range of products from seed work, lace work, pottery, and woodturning. The shop is open on Thursday and Saturday mornings and between 10am-4pm on Fridays.

The Association recognises that the Art and Craft Centre will play a major role in the near future with the Island’s plans to develop its Tourist Industry. It also recognises that it will need to look at restructuring its operations to place it on a more business like footing as currently the operation of the Centre is all achieved through voluntary help.
