newsletter no.15 - mar 2007 - report from dive club

The St Helena Dive Club (SHDC) is still a very active club, even more so during the month of March where there was a Dive Month full of activities.

The start was a snorkelling trip to Long Ledge. This proved to be very successful with some of the members and a good afternoon out was enjoyed by all.

The next event was a water sports afternoon which again proved very successful with many members of the club trying out different water sports for the first time, and the Chairman’s “doughnut” that threw those in it around in a flurry proved thrilling for both young and old alike.

On Friday 30th March there will be the annual sponsored swim, whereby members swim lengths to raise funds. Sea pending, lengths will be swum in the sea with a  pot of soup for the hungry mouths at the end.

Sunday 1st April will see the annual outing that is now combined with the St Helena Yacht Club. This is a big event for the Club and members and a good day out is had by all.
If you are interested in joining the club, or would like to find out more about what we do, then please do not hesitate to contact us on email: SHDC@helanta.sh.
