Community Forests Volunteer Day
Come and get physical in the woods and do your bit to restore the endemic forests of St Helena.
Saturday 1st February
10am-12pm and 1pm-3pm
We’ll be planting Gumwoods and Rosemaries, and clearing the site of invasive aloe. Come for one or both of the sessions. Meet in the MF car park. Cake and tea after!
There will be a range of tasks to suit all physical stamina and abilities, and always at your own pace.
You bring: water, sunscreen, hats, boots, waterproofs, packed lunch. Wear your rough clothes.
We provide: Gloves, tools, education about the plants, their ecologies and our vision for restoring native forests. And of course, lots of refreshments. Bring something yummy if you are of the baking persuasion…
Why? Make a difference!
- Be a part of restoring the long-lost Great Wood by creating an endemic forest which will surround the new road from the airport
- Help stop climate change.
- Meet new folk and make new friends
- Get fit and have fun outdoors at a beautiful site
